Riksbanken ökar lånemöjligheterna i betalningssystemet RIX

Riksbanken har fattat beslut om att öka möjligheten till kredit i betalningssystemet RIX. Den tillåtna andel säkerställda obligationer från närstående institut som kan användas som säkerhet i systemet höjs från 25 procent till 75 procent. Förändringen träder i kraft omedelbart.


Den 18 september fattade Riksgälden efter samråd med Riksbanken, beslut om åtgärder för att underlätta den svenska penning- och obligationsmarknadens funktionssätt.  Med anledning av utvecklingen på de finansiella marknaderna finns även skäl för Riksbanken att se över om vissa säkerheter i betalningssystemet RIX kan accepteras i större utsträckning för att öka tillgången på krediter i betalningssystemet.

Säkerställda obligationer är värdepapper med god kvalitet och accepteras sedan tidigare som säkerhet för krediter i betalningssystemet RIX även om de givits ut av låntagaren själv eller närstående institut. Det beslut som nu fattats innebär att den tillåtna andelen av de totala säkerheter som utgörs av dessa säkerställda obli-gationer höjs från 25 procent till 75 procent. Den ändrade begränsningsregeln gäller med omedelbar verkan och tillsvidare.
