Swedbank har kontrollerat säkerheterna för Lehmanlån

Som tidigare meddelats har Swedbank en säkerställd exponering mot Lehman Brothers om 1 350 miljoner USD. Inget reserveringsbehov föreligger. Swedbank kan efter genomgång på plats i USA av såväl fastigheter som dokumentation bekräfta, att de underliggande lånen fungerar och att säkerheterna för dessa lån är av god kvalitet.


Banken har under de senaste veckorna låtit sina fastighetsexperter och övrig expertis genomföra en grundlig genomgång av de lån och fastigheter som utgör säkerheter. Efter denna genomgång är Swedbanks fortsatta bedömning, att något reserveringsbehov inte föreligger. Denna bedömning är avstämd med Swedbanks externa revisor Deloitte.

De senaste dagarna har ett flertal dotterbolag till Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. ansökt om konkursskydd, däribland Swedbanks motpart. Detta förändrar inte bankens position då Swedbank tidigare vidtagit samtliga erforderliga åtgärder för att säkra rätten till de lån och fastigheter som utgör säkerhet och därmed omfattas dessa inte av ett konkursförfarande.

Mer information om den aktuella exponeringen kommer att redovisas i samband med bankens rapport för det tredje kvartalet.
