De svenska bankerna har klarat sig förhållandevis bra i den turbulens som råder på de finansiella marknaderna. Det visar den rapport över risker och hot mot stabiliteten i den svenska banksektorn som FI publicerar idag.
 
De svenska bankerna har klarat sig förhållandevis bra i den internationella turbulens som råder på de finansiella marknaderna. De fyra storbankerna gjorde rekordvinster 2007 och de har samtliga en god kapitalstyrka.
 
De risker FI pekade på i höstens stabilitetsrapport till regeringen kvarstår. Det handlar om situationen på finansieringsmarknaderna, konjunktureffekter och utvecklingen i Baltikum.
 
Även om dessa risker är relativt allvarliga, bedöms ingen enskild risk utgöra ett stabilitetshot. Finansinspektionen fortsätter följa utvecklingen noga.
 
Storbankernas rörelseresultat uppgick 2007 till rekordhöga 83 miljarder kronor. Det visar Finansinspektionens Kreditmarknadsbarometer som också publiceras i dag och som innehåller siffror för banksektorn till och med fjärde kvartalet 2007. Turbulensen har ännu inte inneburit stigande kreditförluster i storbankerna. Under 2007 minskade storbankernas kreditförluster före återvinningar med nästan 200 miljoner kronor.
