21,6 MSEK satsas på forskning om molekylära solceller

Energimyndigheten och VINNOVA finansierar Uppsala universitet med totalt 21,6 miljoner kronor under tre år för att bedriva fortsatt forskning kring molekylära solceller, så kallade Grätzelsolceller.

Projektet, som är ett samarbete mellan Uppsala universitet, KTH och Swerea IVF, ska ta fram teknik för storskalig tillverkning av molekylära solceller. Energimyndigheten står för 17,6 miljoner kronor av finansieringen och VINNOVA står för 4 miljoner. Utöver detta bidrar även utförande organisationer med sammanlagt 9,5 miljoner kronor. Projektet, som pågår 2009-2011, är en fortsättning på ett forskningsprojekt som bedrivits i två etapper sedan december 2004.

Fokus för verksamheten är att lägga grunden för en kommersialisering av tekniken. Samtidigt ska man även forska vidare på nästa generations molekylära solceller och behålla sin världsledande ställning inom detta område.
