Inköpschefsindex steg till 51,9 i maj 2013

Inköpschefsindex (PMI-totalt) steg med 2,3 indexenheter till 51,9 i maj från 49,6 i april. Uppgången var bred och fyra av fem delindex gav ett positivt bidrag till PMI-totalt under månaden. Det skriver Swedbank och Silf, Sveriges Inköps- och Logistikförbund.

Inköpschefsindex (PMI) mäter tillväxten inom industrin. Ett index över 50 indikerar tillväxt och ett mått under 50 innebär en nedgång.

Efter en månad strax under 50-strecket ligger nu PMI åter i tillväxtzonen. Orderingången stod för det största positiva bidraget till PMI-totalt, och förklarar drygt halva uppgången. Återhämtningen i orderingången förklaras främst av en förbättrad ordersituation från hemmamarknaden där index steg till 51,3 i maj från 46,7 i april. Orderingången från exportmarknaden dämpades något men ligger fortsatt över 50-strecket, 50,8, jämfört med 51,8 i april. Delindex för orderstock noteras till 48,2 i maj jämfört med 49,3 i april.

Index för produktionsplanerna steg till 59,1 i maj jämfört med 55,9 i april. Index indikerar därmed en växande produktion de kommande sex månaderna och uppgången indikerar en något bättre underliggande styrka inför sommaren och andra halvåret. Delindex för produktion steg till 55,2 i maj från 52,8 i april. Sysselsättningsindex steg med närmare 4 indexenheter till 46,3 men ligger alltjämt kvar under 50-strecket, vilket antyder att företagen är fortsatt försiktiga med nyanställningar.

Index för leverantörernas rå- och insatsvarupriser steg med drygt 4 indexenheter och index hamnade på 41,6 i maj. Den bestående låga indexnivån bekräftar ett ihållande svagt pristryck i rå- och insatsvaruledet.

Inköpschefsindex för industrin publiceras den första vardagen i varje månad medan Inköpschefsindex för den privata tjänstesektorn publiceras tredje vardagen i varje månad.
